It really is a one-of-a-kind icon. It may be corny but it's ours.
Built in 1962 for the World's Fair, at a glance it tells you exactly what city you're looking at. And for those of us who live here, it tells you your relative location. It also anchors Seattle Center, almost like a town commons.
Elevator ride up is too damn expensive. Some sunny day when I have time on my hands I'll spring for it just to take enough fotos to stitch together a bitchin' panoramic wraparound.
